About the Journal

JGST is a bilingual (English and French) academic journal published quarterly in a year (January, April, July and October) by the African Regional Institute for Geospatial Information Science and Technology (AFRIGIST), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

JGST aims to publish and disseminate well researched original articles, short communications, research notes, critical reviews, and theoretical and empirical studies that make robust contributions to current debates in the field of Geospatial Science and Technology.

As a multidisciplinary scientific journal, it welcomes articles from various disciplines that use geospatial
tools and software's, including application of Geospatial Science and Technology to address societal issues. These include Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Archeology, Environmental Sciences, Cartography, Geology, Agronomy, Botany, agriculture, Biogeography, Oceanography, Hydrology, Climatology, computer science, geospatial modelling, and Sea Transportation and sea transportation systems, among others.

A manuscript is considered on the strict condition that it has been submitted only to JGST meaning that it has not been published already, and is not under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. Authors who fail to adhere to this condition will be charged with all costs which JGST incurs and their papers will not be published.

The journal invites article submissions between 4000 and 6000 words. The word count relates to the main text only. It does include the Abstract, References list, Figure captions, Tables, Textboxes, or appendices.

JGST uses Open Journal Manuscripts System to peer review manuscript submissions.

This journal is indexed by Crossref.
